The Aek Tano Ponggol Bridge connects Samosir Island with the mainland of Sumatra. It is located in the town of Pangururan, which is also the capital of Samosir Regency. I crossed this bridge while on a work assignment to survey forests slated for logging on Samosir Island. We surveyed the Samosir forest for three days. Then, we continued our survey of the forests slated for logging in Tarutung Regency. The journey to Tarutung wasn’t by ferry, but by land, crossing the bridge connecting Samosir Island with the mainland of Sumatra. As I crossed the bridge, I was struck by a rare sight. It embodied a blend of serenity, beauty, and strength.

The quiet atmosphere of the bridge, combined with the strings of ropes strung along it, and the backdrop of the hills, added to the impression, difficult to describe. There was a sense of strength, grace, enchantment, and beauty, all blended into a unified whole. It was truly an extraordinary combination. I was reminded of the legendary woman named Xena. In my opinion, this bridge was worthy of Xena, the warrior princess.
I didn’t realize I had stopped at the end of this bridge for more than half an hour. Enjoying the quiet atmosphere of the bridge. I don’t know, this happened because it happened that there were rarely any passersby or nature was indeed giving me time to enjoy it, I immediately took a photo of the bridge with the hill in the background, One thing I almost missed. The red color of the bridge also represents courage. So my picture of this Red Bridge is complete. A combination of Strength, Courage, Elegance, Beauty and Charm. After being satisfied, I enjoyed the atmosphere there, I continued my journey to Tarutung which took another 3 hours from here.orthy of Xena, the warrior princess.
It’s a short journey that reminds us of the serenity of nature.
